Teaching U Something

I made it to Day 9 of the journey. When I looked at today’s prompt, I thought to myself what I could teach you. I decided that I would talk to you about taking care of your health. It is so very important in today’s time that you do everything you can to take care of your precious temple from the inside out. Most people spend more time and attention on working, socializing or anything else for that matter but if you do not take care of your body, you will not be able to do the other things. I realize that part of the problem is people are not sure what to do. I have some suggestions for you to begin your journey toward wellness. First, go to the doctors and let them examine you, take test and then inform you about your overall health. This to me is the thing that stops people dead in their tracks, the fear of finding out that something is wrong. I never understood why people would rather not know what wrong so that they can do something about it; instead, they prefer to just live life as usual. Prevention is far better than needing a cure. So just, put your big girl/boy pants on and go find out. More often than not, you will find out that it is not that bad. You may need to watch your high blood pressure, high cholesterol and blood sugar. If you as least find out then you can formulate a game plan to help you resolve your health challenges. I believe that most of the health problems people suffer is due to improper nutrition, lack of movement and insufficient sleep. Just because you choose not to be health conscious does not mean your body will not act up on you, it will. You have control over what you put in your mouth, I am not saying by any means become a vegetarian unless you choose to. What I am saying is that you can eat healthier, make smarter dietary decisions, and still enjoy the foods you love. I personally found a program that I love, that works. Exercise does not mean you have to join a gym, it means get moving: whether its walking, dancing, aerobics, jump roping, do something. Your body was created to move and unfortunately, we have become a lazy society as technology grows, so does our waistlines. You also need to get the proper rest, it is during that time that your body self-heals itself and so if you do not give it the rest it needs you are compromising your immune system. Our bodies were magnificently created and each body system does its job but, you must you yours so that the body functions completely. You must know that you are a whole person mind, body and spirit and you must be well in each of these areas of your life and more. Make sure that you address wellness in the following areas: physical, financial, spiritual, social, emotional, mental, intellectual and environmental. If you do not know how to get started, may I suggest you hire wellness coach who can assist you and get you on the right track. You deserve to live your best life from the inside out, everyday so that you are maximizing each moment.
