the vitamin A derivative that unclogs pores, boosts collagen to reduce
fine lines and wrinkles, and speeds cell turnover to even out
discoloration and smooth the skin. In other words, this is the reason

First of all let me tell you what Retinol is: It’s the #1 dermatologist-recommended cosmetic anti-aging ingredient. Retinol is one of the most
powerful anti-aging ingredients to help re-texturize skin and
dramatically reduce wrinkles. It is derived from vitamin A and can
appear in different skin care products at various strengths and forms. According to Elle Magazine
"The benefit from using retinol is that it is a 'cell-communicating'
ingredient which, in simple terms, can latch onto our skin cells and
train them to be healthy again,". "This is really great
news for us, because retinol can not only combat early signs of aging,
but correct existing damage."Retinol-based products can sometimes cause
redness, so the most opportune time to use one is in the evening, also
your body works hardest at night to fight and repair damage from the
day. While using a retinoid it is important (i.e. mandatory) to use a
high level of SPF protection in your daily regimen. "This will protect
your skin from photosensitivity and sun damage, while supporting the
reparative benefits of this powerful treatment.

Precautions when using Retinol:
- If you are prone to waxing just know that waxing can cause excess redness on retinoid-treated skin; don't use a retinoid for several days before a treatment.
- Don't use a retinol if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- A small percentage of people with ultrasensitive skin can never tolerate retinol; if you're one of them, use a gentle physical exfoliator twice a week to soften your skin, and be extra-conscientious about sunscreen to prevent collagen loss in the first place.
- Benzoyl peroxide and alpha hydroxy acids may deactivate retinoids, so don't layer them
